AI & Reflection Disclaimer

Effective June 18, 2026.Godward uses AI to help you reflect. Being honest about what that is — and isn’t — matters to us. This disclaimer is part of our Terms of Service.

A reflection, not a verdict

Godward’s responses are generated by AI to support your own reflection. The AI is not God, and not a pastor, priest, prophet, or counselor — and it does not speak for God. It can be wrong. Scripture quotations are verified against the text, but the surrounding reflection is a prompt for your own thinking, not divine instruction, doctrine, or professional advice.

What the AI does

It acknowledges what you wrote, offers a reflective observation, may suggest one gentle next step, and points you to a verified Scripture citation you can read for yourself. Responses are respectful and non-coercive, grounded in the 66-book Protestant canon.

What the AI will not do

• Claim to be God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, a prophet, priest, pastor, or licensed professional.
• Tell you that God gave a personalized command, or promise salvation, healing, or answered prayer.
• Rank your spiritual maturity or worth, or shame you for missed days, doubt, sexuality, denomination, or circumstances.
• Diagnose or treat any condition, or replace professional or emergency care.
• Invent Scripture or cite sources outside the canon.

Accuracy

AI can make mistakes. Verse references are checked by an automated verifier, but the reflective text is not authoritative and may not fit your situation. Use your own judgment, and talk with a trusted pastor or mentor for spiritual guidance.

Not professional advice or crisis support

Godward does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, or professional spiritual counseling, and using it does not create any professional relationship. Godward is not an emergency service and does not monitor your reflections in real time. If you or someone else may be in danger, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line in your area right away.

Your reflections are private. They are not used to train AI models or for advertising without your separate, explicit consent. See our Privacy Policy for details.
